Despite trailing by seven points at halftime, the Mercer Island girls basketball rallied in the second half of their game against Mount Si on Wednesday, Jan. 23 to earn the win. The final score was 55-46 for Mercer Island.
Mount Si led the game 32-25 at halftime, but Mercer Island held the Wildcats to just nine points in the third quarter and five in the fourth to overtake the lead and win the game.
Kris Brackmann scored 16 points during the win, Renae Tessem hit nine points for the Islanders while Jamie Mounger added eight. Jessica Blakeslee posted seven points for the team, Rachael Tessem had six points, Julia Blumenstein added four, while Marlo Cafarelli added three and Christina Williamson had two.
The Islanders will travel to play Bellevue on Friday, Jan. 25 in a 6 p.m. game.
