Mercer Island runners compete in 5K

Photo courtesy of Niyati Krauser A plethora of Mercer Island youthful runners competed in the third annual “Mercer Island Young Life Jump into Summer” 5K run/walk on June 3 at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island. In the boys under 15 category, Jaden Krauser captured first place, Anthony Brondello nabbed second place and Oscar Pont tallied a third place finish. In the girls under 15 division, Christina Crow finished in first place and Sophia Morelli cruised to a second place showing. In the boys over 16 category, Eric Moreno registered a first place finish and Ben Biggers captured second place. In the girls over 16 division, Maggie Baker earned first place and Leslie Urie finished in second place.
