Coaches: Sam Gadbury and Erica Hill
Last season: The girls placed third at the 3A KingCo championships while the boys placed fourth. The girls had the runner-up 200 meter relay team at the 3A state meet in Kayla Lee, Victoria Gersch, Piper Casey and Kendra Watson.
Captains: Emerson Schulz, Ben Vandenbosch, Dylan Majewski and Cece Rosenman
Other key athletes: Kayla Lee, Kendra Watson, Jonah Tseng, Max Paek, Jaelen Tate
Strengths: “Our 4x400s, both boys and girls, we’re always excited about. We always seem to have enough runners to have a very competitive team,” Gadbury said. “And the girls 4×200 team could be real strong this year, too.”
Needs to improve: “Last year we were very limited in girl throwers, so we’ll be looking for more this year,” Gadbury said. “I think as far as junior and senior numbers, we’re low, so we’re looking for the younger girls and guys to step in and get some placing at KingCo.”
Goals: “I think with our returning athletes who have done well, we’ve got an expectation for them to have the same level of success and [be] a little bit better moving up,” Gadbury said. “We always want to be pushing to move up in KingCo.”
