It is the largest number in program history in the All-American realm, which highlights the top 50 performers in each event in the nation amongst all public and private school sizes.
The MIHS girls team also ended the dual-meet season as a program-best No. 2 in the nation for its school type and size and No. 14 overall for all sizes of public and private schools.
“I am so proud of this team. We worked hard to position ourselves to win the national title this season and were very very close. With so many accolades earned over the past eight months even after the season is over, it can be easy to overlook how incredible each of these accomplishments are in this sport,” said head coach Chauntelle Johnson.
The team’s boosters are running a stroke clinic from 9-10 a.m. for 8-and-unders and 10-11 a.m. for ages 9-12 on July 9 at the Edgebrook Club, 13454 SE Newport Way, Bellevue. The fundraiser will be for the Islanders’ team travel trip this fall and upcoming season funds.
