Jacquie Hartman and Fikay Abolade have been named new Mercer Island High School (MIHS) head coaches in the girls tennis and boys soccer realms, respectively.
Hartman noted in a Mercer Island School District social media post: “After six years as an assistant coach in the MIHS tennis program, I am excited to be named the head girls tennis coach for the finest program in the state of Washington. My goal is to win state, with the entire team participating and have all feel good about the season. I look forward to instilling a lifelong passion for tennis with all the players.”
Added Abolade in the post: “I am excited to get to work with the talented boys soccer players at MIHS. I believe that through hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude, we can continue a winning tradition that will make the entire community proud. I can’t wait to get started.”
