Mercer Island High School running back Cole Krawiec turns on the jets for a touchdown on the first Islander possession of the game on Sept. 22. Bellevue won the game, 56-21. On Sept. 29, MI beat Hazen, 31-7. Against Bellevue, Krawiec had 20 rushes for 125 yards and two touchdowns; quarterback Spencer Kornblum was 17-29 passing for 201 yards and one touchdown; wide receiver Ryan Boyle snagged eight catches for 92 yards; and wide receiver Elan Gotel grabbed three catches for 72 yards and one touchdown.
