Swinging to state

Mercer Island High School’s girls and boys tennis doubles teams won 3A districts and qualified for the 3A state championships on May 24-25 at the Vancouver Tennis Center. For the girls, sisters Rachel and Sarah Garton (maroon shirts) took first at districts, and sisters Violet and Mia Kinney (white shirts) were fourth at districts and also made state. Chloe DeGracia was fourth in singles at districts and also qualified for state. The girls team won the district title. For the boys, Gian Manhas and Nathan Wen (maroon shirts) took first place and Sam Dilworth and Connor Leung (white shirts) took second place and also advanced to state.
