Up to bat with Little League Night

Mercer Island residents of all ages came to Island Crest Park in support of baseball on April 1 to watch the varsity Islanders battle the Lake Washington Kangs on Little League Night. This is the first season for head coach and Mercer Island High School (MIHS) alum Chris Lawler (class of 2014), who is joined by 2014 MIHS alums Keegan Ogard and Michael Petrie. LW won, 3-0. Pictured are Maverick McLear from Island Park Elementary throwing out the ceremonial first pitch and bat boy Tanner Bloom from St. Monica’s; MIHS senior Cole Rowe joining Bloom and McLear for a photo; and youngsters gathering behind the backstop to check out the action.
